The Enthusiasm Gap

Here’s some recent data to motivate every Democratic leader and progressive organization for 2010. Republican voters are significantly more enthused than Democrats about getting out to vote next year.

The Pew Center poll on November 8 found that voters who plan to support Republicans for Congress had a 16 point advantage over Democrats in their enthusiasm about voting. (more…)

Winning the Odd Election

After a few years of election night wakes, Republicans were finally celebrating. The GOP won the “odd year” sweepstakes and picked up governor’s mansions in New Jersey and Virginia. Conservative candidates ran reasonable-sounding, mostly mainstream campaigns that appealed to the middle. (more…)
